Job summary

Karl Auto Group in Ankeny, IA, is seeking an experienced HVAC service technician to join our service team. You will maintain and repair commercial and residential HVAC systems, rely on EPA 608 cert, and provide outstanding customer service while ensuring safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial/residential HVAC service tech.
• EPA 608 refrigerant certification and ability to service makeup air units, rooftop units, split systems, mini-split systems, VFR systems, and heaters.
• Knowledge of local regulations and building codes including OSHA.
• Be highly motivated and goal-oriented.
• Possess strong time management skills.
• Desire to provide outstanding customer service.
• Team oriented.
• Ability to use technology applicable to the role and access information to complete daily responsibilities.
• Have a clean and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment and air compressor equipment.
• Change air filters, clean condenser fins, check belts, perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Ensure heating and cooling in all areas are working at optimal efficiency.
• Aid in snow removal and other duties as assigned; as needed.
• Effectively manage repair expenses of HVAC systems.

What You Will Do:

Responsible for the service and repair of all H VAC, air compressors and air dryers at the Karl Auto Group. While complying with fire codes, health, environmental and safety requirements and OSHA and other government regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair all H VAC equipment and air compressor equipment
• Changing air filters, cleaning condenser fins, check belts, perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Ensure heating and cooling in all areas are working at optimal efficiency
• Aid in snow removal and other duties as assigned; as needed
• Effectively manage repair expenses of H VAC systems.

The Ideal Candidate Should:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial/ residential H VAC service tech.
• Have EPA 608 refrigerant certification and have the ability to service: make up air unites, roof top units, split systems, mini- split systems, VFR systems, Reznor heaters and infrared tube heaters.
• Knowledge of local regulations and building codes including OSHA. Knowledge of construction activities, radiation safety, environmental health, biohazard safety programs and fire safety practices and procedures.
• Be highly motivated and goal-oriented.
• Possess strong time management skills.
• Have a strong desire to provide outstanding customer service.
