Job summary

Van’s Plumbing & Electric is seeking an experienced HVAC Team Lead to bridge field expertise with operational and strategic oversight in Lynden, Washington. You will lead technicians, manage projects, and ensure top‑quality customer experience while supporting growth of the HVAC division.

This role combines hands‑on installation and service with administration—scheduling, estimating, bidding, and reporting—while upholding Van’s standards of safety and professionalism across our service area

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HVAC experience, including installation and service.
• Leadership or crew lead experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding and troubleshooting ability for heat pump systems, gas furnaces, ductless systems, ductwork, and controls.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• EPA Universal Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC technicians in the field and mentor staff.
• Coordinate workload, scheduling, and job assignments for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
• Assist with hiring, training, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain accurate job records, documentation, and daily reports.
• Maintain Van’s installation standards and customer-first perspective.
• Meet and exceed individual KPI targets.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate scope and provide estimates.
• Collaborate with the office on proposals, budgets, and timelines.
• Develop division-level strategies for efficiency, growth, and customer satisfaction.
• Review plans and specifications to plan labor, materials, and workflow.
• Oversee HVAC system installations, troubleshoot and repair residential and light commercial equipment.
• Ensure proper system startup, testing, and customer walk-throughs.
