Job summary

Merrimack County is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our Facilities Team. The role involves technical maintenance and repair of heating, cooling, refrigeration, plumbing, and general building systems across county facilities.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate degree in mechanical or electrical technology or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant building maintenance expertise and a valid New Hampshire driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical or electrical technology, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• 5 years of experience operating and maintaining building mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Valid New Hampshire driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• HVAC/plumbing systems maintenance and repair across building infrastructure.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems.

Required Education & Experience

EDUCATION: Associate’s degree from a recognized technical school with a major in mechanical or electrical technology or maintenance or on the job experience.

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years experience in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical equipment used in buildings or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledges, skills and abilities.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid New Hampshire Driver’s License is required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

A drug screen & criminal background check will be required of all conditional hires.
