Job summary

Long Beach Unified School District is seeking a skilled HVAC technician to install, inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems across district facilities. You will plan work from sketches and blueprints, ensure compliance with codes, and support energy management efforts while following safety protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma and an HVAC apprenticeship or equivalent, plus four years of hands-on experience in HVAC

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and completion of a recognized four-year apprenticeship program, degree or certificate in the HVAC trade.
• Four years' experience installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems.
• Other training/experience combinations may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain and service HVAC equipment and systems.
• Repair large built-up multi-zone systems, compressors and related equipment.
• Plan work from sketches, diagrams and blueprints; estimate parts and materials.
