Job summary

Macomb Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach climate control-related subjects on campus, online, remote, and in hybrid formats. The role requires responsiveness to students and timely assessment of learning outcomes.

The position emphasizes maintaining LMS materials, coordinating with the department to meet accreditation standards, and assisting in clinical or lab experiences as needed. A teaching credential and related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Certified in the appropriate mechanical/industrial trade with five years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in the teaching discipline or related field with at least two years of work experience.
• Associate Degree in the teaching discipline or related field with at least five years of work experience and equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Mechanical Contractor’s License

Responsibilities

• Teach predefined subject matter as assigned by the department. Subject matter in Climate Control includes Heating, Cooling, Ventilation, Refrigeration, Building Controls, Steam & Hot Water Heating Systems, and Sheet Metal Layout & Fabrication.
• Maintain course materials in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS), including announcements, syllabus, and gradebook.
• Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
• Participate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
• Assist in facilitating student clinical and/or lab experiences as assigned.
• Participate in course assessments that measure achievement of student learning outcomes.
• Complete training for instructional delivery modalities as required.
• Maintain faculty credentials as required by accrediting agencies.
• Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits.
• Participate in Learning Unit committees as schedule permits.
• Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.
