Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Mechanical Engineer, HVAC (Facilities) to read blueprints and run load calculations for HVAC systems across diverse facilities including office, hangar, and rocket environments. You will design and commission HVAC solutions compliant with ASHRAE standards, collaborating with engineers to improve performance and reliability while supporting safety and efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics, aerospace engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in design and/or maintenance of industrial HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Willingness to travel to SpaceX locations as necessary.
• Ability to pass background checks and ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Run HVAC load and heat loss calculations following ASHRAE standards.
• Lead or contribute to HVAC system design for office, hangar, and rocket facilities.
• Ensure designs comply with ANSI/ASHRAE Standards 55, 62.1, 90.1.
• Implement and execute HVAC commissioning per ASHRAE guidelines.
