Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for HVAC & Controls (Facilities Infrastructure) to design, install, and maintain HVAC systems across hangars, offices, and labs. You will read blueprints, perform load calculations following ASHRAE standards, and lead HVAC design efforts on diverse facilities.

Required: BS in mechanical/related engineering and 1+ years of HVAC design/maintenance experience; familiarity with AutoCAD; willingness to travel and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and reports.
• Lead and/or contribute to design of HVAC systems for various facilities.
• Confer with engineers to implement operating procedures and resolve issues.
• Research and analyze designs to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Specify system components to meet design and performance specs.
• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods.
