Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Frederick, MD to design and test mechanical and electromechanical HVAC products. You will develop drawings, BOMs, and documentation while maintaining standards and customer specifications.

The role requires 2–5 years of CAD experience, 3D modeling, and familiarity with manufacturing environments. Onsite in Frederick with competitive pay and benefits, including a 401(k) match and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling for mechanical designs.
• Ability to own projects and drive designs to completion.
• Understanding manufacturability and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze data to determine design feasibility.
• Design heat transfer and HVAC related mechanical systems.
• Create BOMs, piping, and assembly drawings.
• Perform basic structural, load, and heat transfer calculations.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and related standards.
