Job summary

The State of North Carolina seeks an experienced HVAC Supervisor to lead installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in correctional facilities. The role requires journeyman-level HVAC skills, project interpretation, and strong team leadership to ensure work is completed safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the CAP Mechanical Superintendent, ensuring code compliance, and mentoring offender labor crews.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level experience in HVAC construction, installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret project drawings.
• EPA Section 608 Certification Type II or Universal.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Installation, construction, and/or repair of HVAC/R equipment including chillers, air handlers, pumps, and boilers.
• Read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with CAP Mechanical Superintendent to meet scope, budget, and schedule.
• Operate pneumatic building automation and control systems.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA and NC Building Codes.
• Supervise offender labor force training and mentoring.
