Southern Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC Superintendent to oversee installation and execution of HVAC systems on multi-family construction projects. You will manage field operations, supervise subcontracted crews, coordinate schedules, and ensure safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate brings proactive leadership, 5+ years in the field, and proven ability to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Proficiency with Procore, Raken, and Total Station is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as HVAC Superintendent in commercial/multi-family construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods and codes.
• Experience managing multi-family construction projects.
• Proficiency with Procore, Raken, Total Station.
• Experience with underground rough-ins, sleeve layout, top-out coordination, material forecasting.
• Valid driver's license and OSHA 30 (or willing to obtain).
• Experience with multi-floor tension.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate subcontracted HVAC installation crews.
• Oversee all phases of HVAC installation: rough-in, sleeve layout, top-out, final install.
• Verify layout dimensions for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain daily field reports, labor tracking, and timekeeping.
• Forecast material needs 2–3 weeks ahead to avoid delays.
• Coordinate with PMs, GCs, and other trades to keep schedules.
• Conduct weekly site and safety meetings; toolbox talks.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and HVAC/building codes.
• Monitor progress and resolve field issues efficiently.
• Assist in managing subcontracted plumbing labor as required.
• Maintain project documentation using PM software.

This position is responsible for managing daily field operations, supervising subcontracted labor, coordinating project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining compliance with safety standards and building codes.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive field experience who can effectively coordinate crews, anticipate project needs, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate subcontracted HVAC installation crews
• Oversee all phases of HVAC installation, including underground rough-in, sleeve layout, top-out, and final installation

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable HVAC/building codes
• Monitor production, quality, and project progress while resolving field issues efficiently
• Assist in managing subcontracted plumbing labor as required
• Maintain accurate project documentation using project management software

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Superintendent in commercial or multi-family construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods, and applicable building codes.
• Experience managing multi-family construction projects.
• Proficiency with:
  • Procore (or comparable construction management software)
  • Raken
  • Total Station
• Experience with:
  • Underground rough-ins
  • Sleeve layout

• Basic computer proficiency and ability to work within web-based project management systems
