Job summary

Southern Mechanical is seeking a skilled HVAC Sheet Metal Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing ductwork and sheet metal components with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.

In this role you will install, assemble, and maintain sheet metal components for HVAC systems in commercial and industrial environments. We value reliability, clear communication, and a can-do attitude on every project.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• EPA certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with HVAC ductwork, air distribution systems, and sheet metal installation.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Reliable attendance and a commitment to completing quality work.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal using hand tools and power equipment.
• Install HVAC ductwork, vents, fittings, metal panels, and related components.
• Complete layout, fabrication, and installation tasks according to project specifications and applicable codes.
• Properly seal, insulate, and secure ductwork and sheet metal components.
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule.
• Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers as needed.
• Identify potential installation issues and communicate concerns promptly.
• Maintain tools and equipment and follow proper safety procedures at all times.
