Job summary

Jobot in North Charleston, SC seeks an experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman to lead field operations on sheet metal fabrication and installation projects.

You will supervise crews, read blueprints, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with managers to keep work on schedule. 5+ years of HVAC sheet metal experience and proven leadership are required. This is a full-time, permanent position with a strong compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC sheet metal fabrication and installation experience.
• Proven experience as a foreman or lead person with leadership responsibilities.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the sheet metal team activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout.
• Inspect products for quality and conformance to specifications.
• Ensure adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
• Train and mentor junior staff and apprentices.
• Install HVAC sheet metal including ductwork, VAV boxes, dampers and related components.
• Oversee fabrication of sheet metal parts using various tools and machines.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other professionals.
• Perform regular equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
• Resolve problems and recommend improvements for productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of the sheet metal team.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
• Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification.
• Ensure adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
• Train and mentor junior staff members and apprentices.
• Install HVAC sheet metal including ductwork, VAV boxes, fire/smoke dampers, and other related components.
• Oversee the fabrication of sheet metal parts using a variety of tools and machines.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Proven experience as a foreman, lead person, or similar leadership role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
