Comfort Systems USA Mid South, Inc. in Birmingham, AL seeks an HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice II to learn under seasoned sheet metal mechanics on commercial projects.

You will assist with fabrication, installation, and repair of ductwork and HVAC components, read blueprints, measure and cut, and uphold safety and quality.

Qualifications

• We require 1–2 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written/verbal instructions.

• Willingness to travel/overnight stays as project schedules require.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems.
• Install ductwork and components in accordance with SMACNA standards.
• Assist with installation of air terminal units, rooftop units, split systems, and related equipment.
• Read blueprints and installation details under supervision; measure and cut sheet metal.

This position works under the direction of experienced sheet metal mechanics and field leadership while developing advanced installation skills. The Apprentice II assists with fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal systems including ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, and HVAC equipment components.
