Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of HVAC operation/maintenance/repair experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, electrical circuits, wiring and motor principles.
• Ability to read blueprints/diagrams and diagnose problems.
• Physical ability to operate machinery and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test HVAC and boiler systems to verify compliance and locate malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Discuss malfunctions with customers to isolate problems.
• Record faults and time/materials for work orders.
• Test pipes for leaks and adjust controls per manufacturer.
• Install thermostats, humidistats, and timers.
• Coordinate with repair teams and install components per blueprints.
• Generate work orders addressing deficiencies.
• Assemble and mount heating or cooling equipment per blueprints.
• Study blueprints and specs to ensure proper installation.
• Cut or drill holes to install equipment.
• Measure and bend pipe/tubing; fabricate ductwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
