Job summary

Jennings Mechanical in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to lead our service department, handle complex calls, and mentor junior technicians. You will oversee diagnostics, repairs, and advanced maintenance of DX, chilled water, and hydronic systems.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of HVAC service experience, EPA 608 certification, strong control system knowledge, and a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of HVAC service experience, including commercial systems.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Strong understanding of HVAC controls, refrigerants, and system design.
• Factory training preferred (willing to provide as needed).
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for complex HVAC systems.
• Perform advanced maintenance and control system analysis.
• Lead and mentor junior service technicians.
• Provide accurate job estimates and communicate with customers and team.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.

Job description

Overview: Jennings Mechanical is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to serve as a leader in our service department. This individual will handle complex service calls, mentor junior technicians, and help maintain Jennings Mechanical’s reputation for quality workmanship and dependable service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for complex HVAC systems to include: DX systems, chilled water systems, hot water systems, hydronic components, pumps, VFDs, and more
• Perform advanced maintenance and control system analysis
• Lead a team of junior service technicians- training, mentoring, and overseeing junior service technicians in their day to day responsibilities
• Provide accurate job estimates and communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
• Assist with service scheduling and technical support as needed
