Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a Service Technician II - VRV in Orlando, FL. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on VRV/VRF systems, rooftops, chillers, boilers, and more. Onsite role with extensive customer interaction and training responsibilities.

The position requires 3+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and HVAC certification or equivalent. OSHA and EPA certifications are preferred, with on-the-job Daikin training and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification preferred.
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (training provided).
  • Current first aid / CPR card is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Start Up and Commissioning: Verify functionality of new VRV systems and educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual.
  • Conduct Technician Training: Share VRV knowledge with other technicians and customers as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, belts, and lubrication.
  • Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring for fan coils, water source heat pumps, AHUs, rooftops, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to prevent premature breakdowns or callbacks.
  • Perform warranty service inspections and test systems to verify HVAC functionality.
  • Direct Level I technicians with hands-on demonstrations for troubleshooting and repair.

Daikin Applied is seeking aService Technician II - VRV. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited toVRV and VRF systems,large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location:Orlando, FL. - Onsite

What you will do:
  • Perform Start Up and Commissioning: Verify functionality of new VRV systems and repair any malfunctioning equipment. Educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual.
  • Conduct Technician Training: Communicate your knowledge of VRV systems to other technicians and customers as needed.
  • Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
  • Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
  • Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
  • Direct Level I technicians through hands‑on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
  • Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
  • Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
  • Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $31.90 - $44.29 in Florida. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
