Job summary

Aircond Corporation in the Augusta, GA area is seeking a HVAC Service Technician II to install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, using knowledge of refrigeration theory and pipefitting.

You will read schematics, work with up to 20-ton DX equipment, and diagnose refrigerant system issues, with travel across the region as required. A HS Diploma and EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification are required; technical certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
• Trade/Technical certification preferred.
• 1–5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience is a plus.

Job Summary

Job Title: HVAC Service Technician II

Summary

Install, service, and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems. Utilize knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, and pipefitting.

Location

This role is based out of the Augusta, GA area and will require travel throughout the region.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Posting covers Class 2 Service Technician. Duties are based on the candidate’s qualifications below.

Class 2 Service Technician

• Ability to read schematics
• Understanding of up to 20-ton unitary DX equipment
• Understanding of psychometrics
• Basic understanding of Controls
• Basic understanding of Quoting
• Diagnosing refrigerant system issues

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computer and tablets.
• Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong adaptability skills.

Required Experience, Certifications, and Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Trade/Technical School certification or degree preferred.
• One to five years plus of commercial/industrial HVAC experience including exposure to control, compound and reciprocating systems as well as refrigerants. Experience level is based on technician classifications described above.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification

Physical Requirements

Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work and tolerate confined spaces. Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes. Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.
