Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc. is hiring a full-time HVAC Service Technician I for the Austin, TX area. You will service commercial and industrial equipment including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and water source heat pumps, with comprehensive training provided.

You will log activity, inspect systems, and communicate clearly with customers. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 0–2 years of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or HVAC certificate preferred.
• 0-2 years related work experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Emergency Call Support availability as required.
• Licensing/training as required by local law.
• HVAC industry experience preferred.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire.
• First aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication.
• Assist in the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Assist with warranty service by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports promptly.
• Interact with customers by offering status reports before, during, and after each call.
• Explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in training through regional trainers and Daikin Learning.
• Maintain required certifications and continue developing skills.
• Keep work area compliant with standards and safety policies.
