Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Tampa, FL, is hiring a full-time HVAC Service Technician I to service a range of commercial and industrial equipment. You’ll receive extensive training and work on rooftops, chillers, boilers, and more, with opportunities to grow your skills through on-site and online programs.

In this role you’ll perform maintenance, assist with repairs, document work and communicate with customers, while following safety policies and Daikin standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate's degree or HVAC certificate preferred.
• 0-2 years of related work experience is expected.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record are required.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required.
• License/training card as required by local law.
• Commercial HVAC industry experience is a plus.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification is preferred.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire will be provided during onboarding.
• Current first aid / CPR card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication.
• Assist in the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.
• Assist with warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call; explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning; maintain required certifications.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and a clean work area are upheld; follow OSHA and Daikin safety policies.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $20.80 - $ 33.27 in Florida. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
