Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Atlanta, GA is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician I to service commercial and industrial equipment onsite. You’ll receive comprehensive training and work on rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and more, with opportunities to grow your skills.

Responsibilities include performing maintenance, repairs, and tests, documenting service activities, and communicating with customers. Valid driver’s license and OSHA 10 are expected; EPA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to participate in rotational emergency call support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair commercial HVAC equipment including coils, filters, belts, and lubrication.
• Inspect and test systems to verify functionality and prevent breakdowns.
• Record billing, inventory, timecards, and service reports promptly.
• ExplainTechnical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean work area.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

HVAC certificate (Associate’s degree or technical school)

EPA Universal Technician Certification (preferred)

OSHA 10 (within 90 days)

Location: Atlanta, GA. – Onsite

Your Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Assist in the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Assist with warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate’s degree or technical school with an HVAC certificate (preferred)
• 0-2 years of related work experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Commercial HVAC industry experience (preferred)
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $20.80 - $33.27 in Georgia. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre‑employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety‑sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
