Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician I in Houston, TX. You will service commercial and industrial equipment, participate in Daikin Learning programs, and receive comprehensive training.

The role involves on-site work with a wide range of systems including rooftops, chillers, boilers, and water source heat pumps. You’ll log maintenance activities, support warranty work, and report timecards and inventory while communicating clearly with customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or technical HVAC certificate preferred.
• 0-2 years related work experience.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (training provided during onboarding).
• Current first aid / CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and belts.
• Assist in the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.
• Assist with warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $20.80 - $33.27 in TX. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
