Job summary

Dauenhauer Plumbing, Heating & Air in Louisville, Kentucky, is hiring an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial systems. You will combine strong technical skills with excellent customer service and pride in doing the job right the first time.

This full-time role offers up to $35 per hour plus commissions, a Monday–Friday schedule with some weekend rotation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential or light commercial HVAC service
• Active Kentucky HVAC Journeyman’s License
• EPA Universal Certification (required)
• Proficient in diagnosing HVAC equipment and reading wiring diagrams and schematics
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
• Must lift up to 100 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems
• Perform routine maintenance, safety inspections, and system tune-ups
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues efficiently and accurately
• Recommend repairs, upgrades, or system replacements and explain options to customers
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, codes, and standards
• Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and parts usage logs
• Collaborate with dispatch, supervisors, and other technicians; participate in on-call rotation
• Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and professional appearance
