Job summary

Bonney Plumbing, Electrical, Heating and Air in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Residential HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and service home comfort systems. You’ll work in the field daily, building lasting relationships with customers while delivering reliable solutions.

You’ll inspect systems, replace ductwork, ensure IAQ, and coordinate with dispatch to stay on schedule. A valid driver's license and EPA certification are required, with NATE a plus; high school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• EPA Certification required; NATE Certification is a plus.

• Solid understanding of duct replacement and IAQ solutions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems.
• Calibrate equipment to manufacturer specifications and explain findings.
• Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specs.
• Replace ductwork and provide IAQ solutions.
• Travel to job sites and coordinate with dispatch to stay on schedule.
• Keep company vehicle stocked with tools, parts, and safety gear.
• Identify opportunities to discuss upgrades or additional services.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Compensation: $100,000-$250,000 annually, depending on experience and performance

What Will You Do?

As a residential HVAC Service Technician at Bonney, you’ll be out in the field each day diagnosing problems, completing repairs, and building real relationships with the customers you serve. Your day-to-day will include:

• Performing repair and maintenance on residential heating and air conditioning systems
• Diagnosing issues across a variety of HVAC systems, calibrating equipment to manufacturer specifications, and walking customers through your findings and recommended solutions
• Inspecting and testing residential HVAC systems to verify compliance with plan and specification standards
• Replacing ductwork and providing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) solutions
• Traveling to job sites in the service area and coordinating with dispatch to keep your schedule on track
• Keeping your company vehicle properly stocked with the tools, parts, and safety equipment you need
• Identifying opportunities to consult customers on upgrades, new systems, or additional services
• Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the Company.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of hands‑on experience with residential HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
• EPA Certification required; NATE Certification is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Solid understanding of duct replacement and IAQ solutions
• A genuine commitment to customer service
• Ability to work independently and stay accountable without needing constant direction
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
