Job summary

Lex Air Conditioning, Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our field team. You will service and repair residential systems, diagnose issues, and provide clear cost estimates and recommendations to customers.

The ideal candidate has 2 years’ residential HVAC experience, holds TDLR and EPA certifications, excels in customer service, and can perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of residential HVAC technician experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid TDLR and EPA certifications required.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to convert service calls into revenue ethically.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair HVAC systems; provide cost estimates and recommendations.
  • Diagnose issues and plan repair procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and reliability improvements.
  • Interact with customers professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain tool inventory and complete proper documentation.
  • Adhere to safety standards and company quality policies.
  • Meet individual and team performance goals.
  • Collaborate with team to support business needs.

Job description

The ideal HVAC Service Technician candidate should have exceptional customer service and HVAC service experience. Successful candidates are organized and able to perform in a fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Service Manager. Must be available to work full shifts plus overtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and repair HVAC systems: Analyze system issues and identify appropriate repair courses of action; prepare written work cost estimates and customer recommendations. Maintain truck inventory. Ensure necessary tools and equipment for each job are present.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Complete diagnostic troubleshooting of HVAC Systems, checking the layout of existing HVAC devices and units to plan work procedures properly.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair: Perform regular system checks and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency. Complete repairs and offer recommendations for ongoing maintenance.
  • Customer interaction: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Safety and compliance: Follow all safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of services performed and parts used. Document service performed and recommendations made by completing applicable forms, reports, logs, and/or records.
  • Company: Ensure all work meets with company's quality and safety standards.
  • Meet individual and team performance goals.
  • Work collaboratively and support various business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience: 2 years’ experience as a residential HVAC technician.
  • Strong communication skills
  • TDLR certification and EPA certification required
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to convert service calls into revenue ethically

Work Environment

Work in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces. Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds. Operates hand and power tools and vehicles. Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members. Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust. Reasonable accommodation may be made to perform essential functions.

Pay Range: $70,000—$100,000 USD
