Job summary

A-1 United Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to install, inspect, and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The role involves traveling to homes and businesses, diagnosing issues, and performing preventative maintenance while delivering superior customer service.

Qualified candidates will have EPA refrigerant certification, a HVAC program certificate or associate degree, and strong communication skills to explain complex HVAC issues to customers.

Responsibilities

Job description

A-1 United Heating and Air Conditioning, an employee-owned company and one of the largest and most decorated Lennox dealers in the country, is seeking a dedicated HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. With a staff of over 100 people, we offer a supportive work environment and the opportunity to grow your career in the HVAC industry. Commission is also available for qualified sales leads.

Responsibilities

• Travel to homes and businesses as scheduled
• Consult with customers to determine their needs
• Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
• Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC system issues
• Sell ongoing maintenance contracts to customers
• Maintain accurate records of customer appointments and transactions
• Manage inventory of equipment and HVAC resources

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of HVAC experience preferred
• Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required
• Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school preferred
• Previous on-the-job training a plus
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers
• Problem-solving skills
• Valid state driver’s license
• Punctuality and ability to adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments

Compensation

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Commission is also available for qualified sales leads.
