Job summary

Automated Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician for our Ogden or Lindon, Utah operations. This full-time field role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

You will read diagrams, communicate findings, and maintain thorough service records while adhering to safety standards and company policy. EPA 608 certification is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC training or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service.
  • Hands-on with RTUs, VRV/VRF, VAV, split systems, chillers, boilers, and AHUs.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment across a variety of building types.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections to extend system life.
  • Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Replace or repair motors, compressors, fans, and thermostats.
  • Read wiring diagrams and manufacturer documentation.

About This Role We're hiring an experienced HVAC Service Technician for our Ogden or Lindon, Utah operations. This is a full-time field role focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC systems across a variety of building types.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections to keep systems running efficiently and extend equipment life.
  • Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues across a range of HVAC platforms.
  • Replace or repair components such as motors, compressors, fans, and thermostats.
  • Read and work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Keep clients and team members informed on service findings and recommended next steps.
  • Maintain thorough service records covering work completed, parts used, and system conditions.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety standards, applicable codes, and company policy.

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical training or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience, preferrably in a commercial HVAC service role.
  • Hands-on experience with RTUs, VRV/VRF, VAV, split systems, chillers, boilers, and AHUs.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communicator with solid customer service instincts.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NATE certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with digital service tools or mobile work order platforms.
