Job summary

Gallo Mechanical Services is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join a high-performing team in Dallas. The role includes service, installation, and maintenance for commercial HVAC systems, from new facilities to retrofit projects.

You will perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs, coordinate on-site work, and liaise with customers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality service while promoting enhancements and add-on work. EPA certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of HVAC service experience (split systems, packaged systems, DX systems, VRF, chillers, pumps).
• Experience operating handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
• Ability to work in diverse conditions including mechanical rooms and exposed environments.
• EPA Certification required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the direct customer contact on assigned HVAC projects and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform end-to-end testing, maintenance, commissioning, and servicing of HVAC projects.
• Coordinate with team leader and customers to understand requirements for installation and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair units using blueprints/engineering specs and propose retrofits or upgrades.
• Promote system enhancements and additional work where appropriate.
• Maintain safety standards and asset security; wear and use equipment properly.
• Be flexible to work overtime and occasional overnight stays.

As anHVAC Service Technician, you willberesponsible forproviding service, installation, and maintenance to customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base in the above focus areas. This role involvesinstalling, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in commercial environments, from new facility set ups to existing facility retro fits.The HVAC Service Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Representsthe Company by serving as the direct customer contact andis responsible forservicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction byidentifying, analyzing,diagnosingand repairing equipment and systems at customer's location.
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, maintenance, starting up, commissioning, andservicing onassigned HVAC projects.
• Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gatheringmaterialsand synchronizing on-site work.
• Usescutting edgesoftware and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units, as well asproposeretrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing systems.
• Ensureshigh levelsof customer satisfaction.Meetsregularly with customersto become familiar with needs and preferences. Keeps customersinformed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues,and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
• Continually enforces safety to the highest standards andmaintainssecurity and accountability of company issued andprocuredassets by recording use,wearand conditions.
• Displays team effort and dedication to customersbymaintainingflexibility to work overtime and weeks as the businessrequires, including occasional overnight stays.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+years of experience in HVAC service(Split Systems, Packaged Systems, DX Systems, VRF’s, Chillers, Pumps, Etc.).or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.
• Operating and workingproficiencywithhandheldcomputers (I.e.Smartphone, iPad).
• This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds,frequentlylift and or move up to 25poundsand occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds.Mustbe able to climb ladders.
• EPA Certificationrequired.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment preferred.
