Thirty Madison Ventures is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician for Syracuse, NY. You will diagnose issues, service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, and ductless systems, and perform electrical hookups and thermostat installations in customers’ homes.

The role offers on-call pay, 1.5x on-call rates, and a commission-based earning structure alongside full benefits. You’ll be the face of the company delivering quality work and customer service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HVAC service experience (residential valued over commercial).
• Clean, valid NY driver’s license.
• Customer service / sales experience - comfortable upselling and pitching equipment.”
• Universal EPA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, ductless mini-splits, and ventilation systems.
• Perform electrical hookups and thermostat installations, ensuring wiring is code-compliant.
• Handle refrigerants safely - charge and recover systems and ensure leak-free performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate clearly with customers on-site about work performed, findings, and recommendations.
• Upsell and pitch equipment, repairs, and service plans to customers using our menu-based selling system.

HVAC SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Syracuse, NY

This is a hands-on field role for an experienced tech who takes pride in doing the job right the first time - diagnosing issues, handling the fix, and representing the company well with every customer you meet. You'll service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, ductless mini-splits, and ventilation systems for a company that's been keeping Syracuse comfortable since 1999. Beyond the technical work, you'll be the face of the company in customers' homes - pitching equipment and service plans using our menu-based selling system, with real commission and on-call pay to match the effort.

THE BASICS

Location: East Syracuse, NY (Syracuse, Parish & surrounding areas)

Pay: $30-$40/hr, based on experience.

Service Area: Syracuse, Parish & surrounding areas.

Schedule: Full-time

On-Call: Rotating on-call schedule; paid at 1.5x for all on-call hours, regardless of call volume

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, ductless mini-splits, air handlers, and ventilation systems in accordance with code and manufacturer specifications
• Perform electrical hookups and thermostat installations, ensuring all wiring is code-compliant
• Handle refrigerants safely - charge and recover systems and ensure leak-free performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues efficiently and accurately
• Interpret and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Collaborate with apprentices, fellow technicians, and contractors to meet deadlines and job requirements
• Communicate clearly with customers on-site about work performed, findings, and recommendations
• Upsell and pitch equipment, repairs, and service plans to customers using our menu-based selling system (New Flat Rate)
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation for each job
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and properly care for company tools and equipment
• Follow all safety protocols and industry codes on every job
