Guardian Heating and Cooling Service in Chicago, IL is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to perform service, maintenance, and repair on residential systems, and to advise customers on repair or replacement options. You will educate customers on new technology and IAQ accessories, and test and balance systems.

Qualifications

• Requires EPA Type I & II or EPA Universal Certification.
• HVAC Technical School certificate desired.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Dispatched to calls by in-house dispatcher.
• Service, maintenance, and repair on residential HVAC systems.
• Consult customers on repair or replacement options.

Job description

HVAC Service Technician | $28.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on union card

Schedule: Monday Through Friday | 7:00am to 4:00pm | Overtime available

Job Overview:

• Dispatched to calls by our expertly trained in-house dispatcher
• Service / maintenance / repair on residential heating and air conditioning systems
• Consulting customers on repair or replacement options as needed
• Educating customers on new technology and IAQ accessories
• Testing and balancing systems

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• 2 years of residential HVAC Service experience or combination of education and experience
• EPA Type 1 & 2 or EPA Universal Certification
• Familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques
• Advanced customer service skills
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
• Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques
• Ability to consult on customer complaints and give solutions that are beneficial for customers as well as company
• Well organized and ability to work independently
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Certificate of completion from a HVAC Technical School - Desired
• High school diploma or its equivalent

Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment.
