Guardian Heating & Cooling Service in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced HVAC Installer to retrofit and replace residential and light commercial systems. You will install gas/electric furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and ducted/ductless units while ensuring high-quality, timely performance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of retrofit experience, EPA universal certification, and a valid driver's license. Room for training, union benefits, and advancement within a family-owned team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

HVAC Installer

Pay Range: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on union card

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday | 7:00am to 4:00pm | overtime available

What You Will Be Doing:

• Retrofit / Changeout of residential heating and air conditioning systems
• Ducted and ductless systems
• Installing Indoor Air Quality accessories, and ductwork
• Installing boilers
• Radiant heat and steam systems
• Test and balance systems
• Consult with customers and answer their questions
• Supervise the work of other installers, and train new installers
• Maintaining a high-quality and timely job performance

What We Are Looking For:

• 3 years of experience performing residential HVAC retrofit and system replacement projects
• Previous experience serving as a crew leader or overseeing installation teams
• Current EPA Type I & II Certification or EPA Universal Certification required
• Skilled in the installation of gas furnaces, electric furnaces, heat pumps, mini-split systems, and other residential HVAC equipment
• Experience with boiler installation, setup, and replacement
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, ductwork layout, fabrication, and installation practices
• Capable of mentoring, training, and directing less-experienced technicians and installers
• Thorough understanding of HVAC low-voltage controls, wiring, and system operation
• Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of daily job duties
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record
