Job summary

Pestinger Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair heating and cooling systems for residential and commercial customers. You will travel to job sites, perform consultations, and recommend maintenance plans to improve efficiency and safety.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of on-site experience, EPA refrigerant certification, and a state HVAC license, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years apprenticeship under a journeyperson preferred.
• EPA refrigerant certification required.
• HVAC program degree or associate’s required.
• Must hold state HVAC license.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex HVAC issues clearly.

Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be responsiblefor inspecting, diagnosing and repairing customer’s heating & cooling systems.Candidates should have training from a technical school and at least 3 years ofon-site experience.

Duties andResponsibilities

• Travel to homes andbusinesses on a daily basis as scheduled
• Perform consultationswith customers
• Determine customer’sneeds and discuss all solution methods
• Inspect current HVACsystems for effectiveness and safety
• Perform preventativemaintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
• Conduct performancetests with specialized tools
• Troubleshoot currentHVAC system issues
• Repair damaged HVACsystems
• Sell ongoingmaintenance contracts to current customers
• Keep records ofcustomer appointments and payment transactions including invoices

HVAC TechnicianRequirements and Qualifications

• 3-5 yearsapprenticeship under a journeyperson preferred
• Certification throughthe Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required
• Certification orassociate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school required
• Must hold state HVACtechnician license
• Previous on the jobtraining a plus
• Strong verbalcommunication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues with customers ina way they understand

• Must hold validdriver’s license
• Must be punctual andadhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations
