Job summary

TP Mechanical Contractors is seeking a Service Technician to perform daily service work on HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller, and refrigeration systems in the Indianapolis area.

You will read blueprints, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors professionally on site. A minimum of 5–7 years in plumbing/HVAC/refrigeration and OSHA 10 are required, plus KY HVAC licenses and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
• EPA or Universal License.
• HVAC licenses for KY Regions only.
• OSHA 10 Construction Industry.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day allocation of labor to ensure jobs are completed in a timely, complete, and profitable manner.
• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC, hydronic, piping and control problems.
• Follow up with customers for quality assurance and 100% satisfaction.
• Act as senior technical support for other Service Techs and answer technical questions.
• Attend job site and office meetings related to assigned projects; fill out forms, revisions, and tool/equipment requests.
• Dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.
• All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Manages day-to-day allocation of labor to ensure jobs are taken care of in a timely, complete, and profitable manner.


• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC, hydronic, piping and control problems.


• Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.


• Acts as the senior technical support for other Service Techs. Can answer most technical questions and help with almost any issue.


• Attend, if needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects. Is well prepared to handle issues that may come up. Fill out all forms, revisions, requests for tools/equipment/material that are required for each project.


• Dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.


• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• 5-7 years commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.


• Stable work history.


• HVAC licenses for KY Regions only.


• EPA or Universal License.

Job Skills

• Ability to read blueprints.


• Knowledge of general plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation.


• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.


• Able to use all specialty tools including Recovery Machine, Multi Meter, Combustion Analysis.


• Able to install equipment.


• Very strong technical background.


• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.


• Exceptional communication skills.


• Excellent organizational skills.

Education

• High School or GED Equivalent.


• Trade School a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.


• Able to work long hours on feet.


• Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.


• Able to perform shift work.


• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.


• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.


• Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.


• Must provide their own basic hand tools.
