Job summary

TP Mechanical Contractors seeks a Service Technician to perform daily service work on HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller and refrigeration systems. You will read and interpret blueprints, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors professionally on job sites.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration, an HVAC license (KY regions), and EPA or Universal certification.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
• Stable work history.
• HVAC license (KY Regions only)
• EPA or Universal License.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC, hydronic, piping and control problems.
• Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.
• Can work independently with little direction and can solve problems (i.e., contacting factory, engineer, architect, foreman, etc.).
• Attends job site and office meetings related to assigned projects and prepares required forms and requests for tools/equipment/material.
• On call as required and completes paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC, hydronic, piping and control problems.
• Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.
• Can work independently with little direction and can solve problems (i.e., contacting factory, engineer, architect, foreman, etc.).
• Attends, if needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects. Is well prepared to handle issues that may come up. Fills out all forms, revisions, requests for tools/equipment/material that are required for each project.
• Dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.
• Has the ability to identify and locate parts/suppliers.
• On call as required and fills out the corresponding paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• 1-3 years commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
• Stable work history.
• HVAC license (KY Regions only)
• EPA or Universal License.

Job Skills

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of general plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Able to use all specialty tools including Recovery Machine, Multi Meter, Combustion Analysis.
• Very strong technical background.
• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Education

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• Trade School a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to work long hours on feet.
• Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must provide their own basic hand tools.
• OSHA 10 Construction Industry
