GSM Services, a long-established family-owned company serving the Greater Charlotte area, seeks an HVAC Service Maintenance Technician - Apprentice (Commercial). You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and assist with complex repairs on-site.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, EPA certification within 90 days, and a valid NC/SC driver’s license. The company offers paid time off, health and dental coverage, a 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems (coils, filters, belts).
• Inspect and replace electrical/mechanical components (contactors, capacitors).
• Complete preventative maintenance forms and advise customers on next steps.
• Assist the service department with repair tasks requiring two technicians when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning coils, changing filters, and replacing fan motor belts.
• Inspect and replace electrical and mechanical components such as worn contactors and weak capacitors.
• Complete preventative maintenance forms and advise customers on next steps.
• Assist the service department with repairs that require two technicians due to weight, size, location, or complexity.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid NC or SC driver's license
• Dependable transportation
• EPA Universal Certification (or obtained within the first 90 days of employment)
• Basic hand tools and tool bag (a required tool list will be provided)
• Availability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible hours
• Ability to work at heights greater than 8ft
• Leather work boots with proper ankle support and rubber soles (waterproof recommended)

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
• Work outside in various weather conditions for extended periods
• Walk, stand, stoop, or sit for prolonged periods
• Climb stationary, extension, and collapsible ladders
