Job summary

Rodenhiser Home Services in Holliston, MA is seeking an HVAC technician with 1–3 years of field experience to join our trusted, family-owned team.

You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems installed by Rodenhiser, educate customers on status and issues, and help identify replacement options while maintaining a clean, well-organized job site and accurate timekeeping.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ field experience in HVAC service.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC 10+ year systems.
• Experience with gas pressure checks, subcooling, superheat and combustion tests.
• Current Apprenticeship card or formal trade schooling.
• Knowledge of related trade tools and equipment.
• Completion of trade schooling or equivalent experience.
• EPA universal certificate required.
• Knowledge of HVAC/plumbing codes and electrical/HVAC safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance calls on HVAC systems installed by Rodenhiser.
• Educate customers on system status and issues.
• Explain replacement opportunities for aging, inefficient or underperforming systems.
• Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
• Ask lifestyle questions to troubleshoot heating, cooling and plumbing malfunctions.
• Educate and assist customers in choosing finance options and maintenance plans.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
• Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets.

The Big Task

Complete all preventive maintenance calls on HVAC systems installed by Rodenhiser.Educate customers on the status of their systems and any pertinent issues.

Key Sub Tasks

• Explain replacement opportunities for aging, inefficient or underperforming systems.
• Know how to establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
• Ask the right lifestyle questions to troubleshoot heating, cooling and plumbing system malfunctions.
• Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
• Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 1-3 years’ experience in the field.
• Capacity to perform preventive maintenance service on HVAC systems 10 years or newer.
• Competent at checking gas pressures, sub cool, super heat, combustion tests and static pressures.
• Current Apprenticeship card/license or formal trade schooling.
• Intimate knowledge and ability to use related trade tools/equipment.

• Must have successful completion of trade related schooling or equivalent experience.
• Must have current EPA universal certificate.
• Knowledge of HVAC/Plumbing and gas codes and proper electrical and HVAC safety standards.

Rodenhiser Home Services is an equal-opportunity employer committed to fair and equitable pay practices. The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000-$80,000, based on responsibilities, experience, and other relevant factors. Employees may also be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or other variable compensation depending on their position. Total compensation is determined through a structured review considering experience, education, certifications, and licenses.
