Blauch Brothers, Inc. in Winchester, VA is seeking an HVAC Apprentice (North) to support the Service Department by assisting experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems.

This full-time position emphasizes safety, skill development, and hands-on training. You will work with technicians and coordinators, perform routine service tasks, and participate in training to move toward a Commercial HVAC Service Technician role.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn commercial HVAC systems.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to work in commercial and industrial environments.
• Basic computer literacy preferred (tablet or mobile device use for service documentation).

Responsibilities

• Assist Service Technicians with preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment.
• Support troubleshooting and repair of rooftop units, air handlers, boilers, chillers, and related systems.
• Assist with system inspections, diagnostics, and routine service tasks.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Load, unload, and organize tools and materials for service calls.
• Communicate job progress and observations to supervising technicians.
• Safely operate hand and power tools.
• Participate in hands-on technical training and skill development.
• Assist with inventory, vehicle organization, and equipment maintenance.
• Work toward industry certifications and technical competency.
• Represent the company professionally on job sites.
