Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a skilled HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to maintain district HVAC systems through diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, a Washington State Limited Energy Trainee license (06A/06B preferred), and at least four years of related experience, plus a refrigerant handling certification.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a Washington State Limited Energy Trainee license, 06A or 06B license preferred.
• Four years experience as a control technician, refrigeration repair person, or related field; vocational training may substitute for up to two years.
• Possess or obtain Certification for proper refrigerant usage and recovery.
• Satisfactory completion of a factory authorized course in DDC controls relating to setup operation and maintenance of direct digital HVAC control systems preferred.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record.

Responsabilidades

• Calibrate electrical and pneumatic thermostats; diagnose faults and repair malfunctions in pneumatic and electrical control systems; be familiar with DDC control systems.
• Participate in the design of HVAC systems for new facilities and renovation projects.
• Load and carry equipment and supplies; clean up job site after completion of work.
• Recharge Freon and refrigerant systems; check and repair leaks; operate refrigerant recycling equipment.
• Optimize heating and ventilating systems; adjust dampers; fabricate duct work; analyze CO2 balance and diagnose faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
• Stay updated on HVAC/refrigeration technology; participate in related organizations or courses.
• Develop and install new HVAC/refrigeration systems; install new systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair motor controls related to HVAC equipment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
