Job summary

Monroe County School District in Tavernier (Upper Keys) is seeking an HVAC and Refrigeration Mechanic to operate, maintain, install and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment and related systems. The role includes scheduled preventive maintenance and diagnosing control-system issues.

Ideal candidates will read technical manuals for troubleshooting, perform safety procedures and work from ladders or lifts when needed to ensure indoor air quality.

Qualifications

• Operates, maintains, installs and repairs HVAC equipment, including refrigeration components.
• Performs scheduled PM on HVAC systems.
• Diagnoses discrepancies with computer-based control systems and reviews run parameters.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, installs and repairs equipment including compressors, motors, coils and refrigerant lines.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Diagnoses issues with computer-based control systems and sets program schedules.
• Installs and maintains air distribution systems and components.
• Reads technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment and controls.
• Safely works from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts to maintain indoor air quality.
