Job summary

Southeastern Louisiana University is seeking an HVAC Refrigeration Master Mechanic to install, repair, and maintain campus HVAC and refrigeration systems. This lead role will supervise multiple HVAC Refrigeration Mechanics and exercise independent judgment in daily tasks.

Work schedule is Mon-Thu 6:30 am–4:15 pm with 45 min lunch; Fri 6:30 am–11:30 am. A valid driver’s license and EPA 608 Type IV Universal certification are required, with up to 30 days to obtain the certification.

• Three years of experience or training in installation/maintenance of HVAC systems.
• EPA 608 certification (Type IV, Universal) required; may be obtained within 30 days.
• Ability to work independently and supervise multiple HVAC mechanics.

Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Physical Plant Services invites applications for the position of HVAC Refrigeration Master Mechanic. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks relating to installation, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC systems and refrigeration units across the campus. As the HVAC Refrigeration Master Mechanic, the ability to exercise independent judgment will be necessary, as this position will serve as a lead worker over multiple HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic positions.
