Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont in Charlotte, NC is looking for an experienced HVAC instructor to develop and deliver NCCER-aligned training for building trades professionals. You will teach HVACR curricula, safety protocols, sheet metal, welding, and pipefitting, while maintaining records, preparing reports, and providing constructive feedback to help students succeed.

Qualifications

At least four years' experience in HVAC, or three years as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical program.
High School diploma or GED; NCCER certification preferred.
Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent customer service, communication, and the ability to read and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

Develops, coordinates, and delivers HVACR curriculum aligned with NCCER and OSHA standards.
Instructs students in HVACR concepts, sheet metal basics, welding, and pipefitting.
Maintains student records, attendance, and individualized learning plans.
Generates reports to assess curriculum effectiveness and identifies improvements.
Provides timely assessment feedback and coaching to students.
