Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Refrigeration and HVAC technician to maintain, repair and support equipment across assigned store service calls in Chesapeake, VA. You will work independently, perform preventative tasks, troubleshoot issues, and document all activities while upholding Kroger values of respect, safety and integrity.

The role requires 3+ years of HVAC experience, EPA Type 2 certification, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' refrigeration/HVAC experience
• EPA Type 2 Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and overtime

Responsibilities

• Drive independently to stores on a daily basis as assigned.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and procedures to buildings and equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair equipment.
• Perform compressor, large motor and component replacement.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of parts.
• Operate equipment, vehicles, powered industrial trucks and aerial lifts safely.
• Complete repair, labor, parts purchasing and usage documentation in a timely fashion.
• Comply with department and company policies and procedures.
• Assist other skilled trade technicians in repairs as requested.
• Physical demands include standing/walking, driving, lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing ladders, bending, squatting, kneeling, and working in various temperatures.
