Job summary

Kroger is hiring a Refrigeration/HVAC Maintenance Technician to service our stores. This on-site role involves driving to assigned locations in Columbus, performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of HVAC/refrigeration systems, and documenting all work meticulously.

Candidates should have 5-7 years of HVAC experience, EPA Type 2, supervisory aptitude, and the ability to mentor others. Flexibility for nights and overtime is required; a valid driver's license is a must.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings, manuals and schematics.
• Advanced technical training or related technical certifications.
• Supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5-7 years' proven refrigeration/HVAC experience and satisfactory overall performance.
• EPA Type 2 Certification.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use control manufacturers' software.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and overtime when necessary.
• Demonstrated mentoring and training experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive to stores daily and perform preventive maintenance tasks and procedures.
• Repair refrigeration/HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Navigate electronic controls interfaces and investigate issues.
• Maintain inventory of parts and service vehicles.
• Document repairs, labor, parts and usage in a timely fashion.
• Mentor and train other technicians and provide feedback on performance.
