Job summary

Global Group seeks a skilled professional to respond to critical system failures and emergencies in a data center environment. You will perform daily rounds, log entries, and maintain MEP systems to ensure uptime while following OSHA and NFPA safety standards.

Certification in EPA Section 608 and ability to work under pressure are valued. This role operates on a 4 day work week with comprehensive benefits and relocation options where applicable.

Qualifications

• OSHA, NFPA, and workplace safety standards understood and applied.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and 1-lines accurately.
• Experience with data center MEP systems and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Respond to critical system failures and emergencies promptly.
• Perform daily equipment rounds and complete log entries in CMMS.
• Maintain data center mechanical and electrical systems to ensure uptime.
• Satisfactorily pass EPA Section 608 Certification (timelines may apply).
• Adhere to safety standards and support information security requirements.
• Operate within a 4 day work week schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The ability to respond to critical system failures and other events, requiring competent and effective emergency response
• Perform daily equipment rounds, complete log entries, utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Available to respond to emergencies in a timely fashion 24x7 (unless reasonable circumstances prevent)
• The ability to perform maintenance and repairs of Data Center Mechanical and Electrical systems
• Satisfactorily pass the firms Operating Engineer verbal exam
• Understanding of and ability to comply with OSHA, NFPA and other workplace Safety standards
• Complete and pass a minimum of two (4) TPC Engineering Skills training courses per month (course selection by Supervisor)
• Satisfactorily pass the EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal) – deferrable up to 6 months
• Responsible for information security
• Electrical or HVAC/R License would be a plus but not required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must possess a comprehensive and functional knowledge of data center MEP systems, including but not limited to UPS, generators, switchgear, breakers, PDUs, transfer switches, VFDs, chillers, A/Cs, humidifiers, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, automation, fire suppression and alarm systems, electrical, mechanical and fire codes.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and computer skills including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, 1-lines and other technical document

Work Schedule:

• 4 day work week/ 3 days off
