Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL seeks a full-time HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain, and service campus heating, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment. The role requires EPA certification and will involve diagnosing complex issues while coordinating with other trades.
Responsibilities include operating building controls systems (BACnet, Desigo BAS, Alpha/ALC), performing boiler chemistry and safety testing, and ensuring reliable climate control across campus.
The purpose of this position is to provide space comfort for the entire campus community and the buildings they occupy. The person in this role will install, maintain, and service building and departmental heating ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. This position coordinates work with other trades and must be certified to perform work to levels set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. The person in this role must be able to diagnose complex equipment problems, use sophisticated diagnostic equipment and EPA approved refrigerant reclaim equipment.
