Job summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is seeking a full-time day Associate Instructor in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration at the Covington Branch Campus. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction, support student learning, and maintain a positive classroom and laboratory environment.

The role emphasizes teaching, evaluating progress, and helping students develop technical and employability skills for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution preferred or as required by program area.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience; five (5) years preferred.
• EPA 608 Universal certification required; HVAC Excellence or NATE Certifications.
• Strong communication skills to be an effective instructor.
• Evidence of good character, organizational skills, professionalism, and mature judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in all phases of the HVAC/R curriculum.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate student progress; maintain records in the college's software; submit reports.
• Maintain positive relations with related industries and advisory committees.
• Collaborate with outside agencies and industry partners for work-based learning experiences.
• Support dual enrollment through K-12 partners as needed.
• Assist with curriculum development, program accreditation, and daily lesson planning.
• Perform other duties to support the TCAT Northwest mission.
