Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Commercial HVAC/R Mobile Building Engineer to support multiple facilities in the Fort Lauderdale area. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and related systems while traveling to sites in Port Saint Lucie, FL.

This role requires maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and documentation of activities. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, EPA certification, and 4+ years of related experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a CBRE HVAC/R Mobile Building Engineer, this job will support several facilities primarily in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. Requires expertise to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as HVAC/R, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

• Must live within designated radius of the job site to reliably work schedule/shift.

• Must be comfortable with extensive everyday travel covering Port Saint Lucie, FL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

• Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.

• Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors.

• Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC/R, plumbers, and cleaning.

• Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.

• Completes maintenance and repair records as required.

• Reviews assigned work orders.

• Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair.

• Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.

• Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.

• Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

• Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.

• Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair:

• Commercial HVAC

• Refrigeration (Walk-in-Cooler and Walk-in-Freezers)

• Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (M.E.P.)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Minimum of four (4) years of related experience and/or trade school training

• Engineering experience that focuses on HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing

• EPA required

• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Possess necessary skills to functionally operate a "full size" van/truck. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.

Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.

Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
