Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Mobile Building Engineer to support facilities primarily in the Fort Lauderdale area. You will perform complex preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing and related systems, ensuring safe, efficient operation and energy efficiency.

The role involves travel within the designated region and working with various on-site teams to maintain client environments at peak performance.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining commercial HVAC/R and building systems.

• Capable of documenting maintenance activities and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing to ensure operation.

• Oversees contractors and ensures safety and compliance.
• Maintains energy management program to optimize operating costs.
• Maintains building lighting and performs carpentry/locksmith tasks as needed.
• Responds quickly to emergencies and documents work orders.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a CBRE HVAC/R Mobile Building Engineer, this job will support several facilities primarily in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. Requires expertise to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as HVAC/R, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

• Must live within designated radius of the job site to reliably work schedule/shift.
• Must be comfortable with extensive everyday travel covering Port Saint Lucie, FL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
• Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors.
• Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC/R, plumbers, and cleaning.
• Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.
• Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
• Reviews assigned work orders.
• Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair.
• Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
• Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
• Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
• Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.
