Job summary

Rheem Midwest Distribution, part of Rheem, seeks a Purchasing Agent III to manage cost-effective procurement of HVAC equipment and supplies and to maintain the Prophet 21 ERP system supporting our growing operation. The role requires HVAC product knowledge, detailed analysis, strong negotiation, and cross‑department collaboration.

This on-site position can be located in Kimberly, WI, West Allis, WI, or Madison, WI, with travel to other branches as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing experience or knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• HVAC industry experience or knowledge preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems (P21) preferred.
• Ability to think critically under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation.
• Excellent time management with multitasking ability.
• Collaborate with and support multiple departments and staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute standardized purchasing procedures across all company locations.
• Maintain outstanding customer service for internal and external customers.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and efficiency gains.
• Meet and negotiate with suppliers to deliver best value.
• Source products and services to support sales and customer inquiries.
• Maintain technical competence for HVAC equipment and services.
• Stay proficient with ERP systems to place orders and support inventory.
