Century Mechanical Holdings is seeking an experienced HVAC Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing for Harwich Port, MA and Wolcott, CT. You will take ownership of purchasing decisions, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure alignment with budgets.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years strong HVAC purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience REQUIRED.
• Hands-on ServiceTitan experience REQUIRED.
• Experience managing purchasing decisions, vendor relationships, and cost control.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, materials, and suppliers.
• Proven vendor negotiation skills.
• Understanding of job costing, estimates, budgets, and profitability.

Century Mechanical Holdings is seeking an experienced, motivated, and financially minded HVAC Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing operations for our Harwich Port, MA, and Wolcott, CT locations.

We are looking for someone who understands the HVAC industry, knows how to negotiate competitive vendor pricing, and takes ownership of purchasing decisions that directly impact profitability. This is an important role within our growing organization. The right person will be responsible for ensuring purchases are necessary, accurately priced, within approved estimates, and properly accounted for.

We need someone who will take ownership of purchasing for both locations, not simply process orders.

What You'll Do

Purchasing Management & Accountability

• Oversee all purchasing activity for both locations.
• Review and approve purchase orders within established purchasing limits.
• Submit purchasing recommendations and significant expenses to leadership for approval when required.
• Take full accountability for purchasing decisions, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
• Ensure purchases align with approved estimates, budgets, and operational needs.
• Establish consistent purchasing processes and accountability across both locations.

Vendor Negotiations & Cost Control

• Negotiate vendor pricing, discounts, terms, and purchasing agreements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with HVAC equipment and material suppliers.
• Evaluate vendor pricing, performance, and reliability.
• Identify opportunities to reduce purchasing expenses and improve profitability.
• Monitor material costs and purchasing trends.
• Address unnecessary spending, pricing discrepancies, and purchasing inefficiencies.
• Recommend and implement cost-saving strategies.

Estimate Compliance & Customer Billing

• Ensure all purchases comply with approved estimates and budgets.
• Monitor purchasing-related job costs and address discrepancies that impact profitability.
• Work closely with operations and accounting to ensure all materials and purchases are accurately recorded.
• Ensure purchasing costs are properly captured for timely customer billing.
• Identify and resolve unbilled materials, missing charges, and purchasing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within ServiceTitan.
• Follow up on purchasing-related billing issues to prevent lost revenue.

Multi-Location Oversight

• Manage purchasing operations for Harwich Port, MA, and Wolcott, CT.
• Work directly with General Managers, operations teams, accounting, and leadership.
• Maintain consistent purchasing standards and procedures across both locations.
• Monitor purchasing performance and report cost savings, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
• Ensure materials and equipment are available when needed.
• Travel to both locations as business needs require.

Requirements

• 3-5 years strong HVAC purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience REQUIRED.

• Strong Excel, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and take accountability for results.
• Comfortable overseeing purchasing operations across multiple locations.
• Candidates must currently reside in the United States and be based on the East Coast. This is a firm requirement for the position. Applicants must be available to work Eastern Time Zone business hours and travel to Harwich Port, MA and Wolcott, CT as needed. Candidates outside the required geographic area will not be considered.
