BBSI, partnering with a well-established commercial mechanical contractor with nearly 50 years serving Southern California, identifies a motivated Project Engineer ready to grow into a Project Manager.

This role offers hands-on exposure to every phase of commercial HVAC construction, mentorship, cross-training, and opportunities for real advancement while contributing to a stable, long-term career path. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of Commercial HVAC or mechanical construction experience.
• Experience as HVAC Installer, Apprentice, Lead Installer, Foreman, or Project Coordinator is desirable.
• Recent graduates in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines encouraged to apply.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Project Manager with multiple active commercial HVAC projects.
• Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and outstanding action items.
• Participate in project planning meetings.
• Support project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
• Help coordinate field activities with project requirements.
• Visit active job sites as needed.
• Work closely with field foremen and installation crews.
• Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating project activities.
• Develop an understanding of project sequencing and construction schedules.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, Submittals, Equipment procurement.
• Material orders and deliveries, Change orders, Closeout documentation and Document control.
• Attend project meetings and job walks.
• Build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
